Selected as One of the Official Art Poster Artists for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic

Tomoyuki Shinki (b.1982) is an avid fan of combat sports. The black lines typical of his work accurately depict the intertwined and muscular bodies of wrestlers. The boldly deformed techniques in his artwork are highly dynamic. In 2018, Shinki’s artwork was selected for the Summer Exhibition of the Royal Academy of Arts, the largest annual open submission exhibition in the world, held in London. In addition, he has garnered international recognition as one of the official art poster artists for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics. In this solo exhibition being held for the first time in 10 years, we will exhibit his works, particularly his more recent creations involving “combat sports.” It is also the first presentation of a new series with the sports theme and includes the works of the official art poster candidates.

Opening Reception September 14, 2:00 p.m. −
